Membership in the Worship Choir is open to anyone aged 14 or older. This choir leads in worship on Sunday mornings each week. Wednesday night rehearsals begin at 6 PM in the Music Suite and are a fun time of fellowship, worship, inspiration, learning, and sharing.
Formerly known as the Morning Glories, this group was organized in 1985. Rehearsals are on Thursdays at 10 AM. Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join this fun and inspiring group.
Pure Praise is a choir for grade school children that meets on Wednesday nights at 5 PM in the Music Suite to learn how to worship God through music. Pure Praise helps lead worship periodically throughout the school year and also prepares music for special events, including a children's theater production.
The student choir at First Baptist, known as Pure Energy, has developed a reputation throughout the nation for its commitment to excellence and its consistent strength in numbers. For several years, the group has numbered one hundred or more active students in grades 8-12. With an emphasis on worship, textual understanding, musicianship, structure, discipline, commitment, and student leadership, the choir has developed a strong tradition with which students want to be identified. Rehearsals are on Sunday evenings from 4:30 to 5:30 PM throughout the school year.
