We understand showing up at a new place for the first time can be nerve-wracking, so here's what you can expect.
From the parking lot to the worship center, our team of volunteers is here to guide you and answer any questions that you might have. A warm and welcoming community will greet you.
Stop by one of our Guest Services locations in the Worship Center or Family Life Center. Connect with one of our team members wearing a bright colored lanyard to help you navigate your first steps.
Our worship pastor, accompanied by incredibly gifted vocalists and instrumentalists, lead you through worship songs as we exalt Jesus together.
Our pastor, staff, and volunteers lead from an overflowing relationship with Jesus. From the pulpit to groups, you can expect biblically based teaching.
We're neither a dress-up nor a dress-down kind of crowd. Wear whatever you’re comfortable in—you’ll see folks in suits, dresses, jeans, and even shorts!
Every Sunday, our church family gathers together at 10:30 a.m. to experience worship, pray together, and hear a message from Scripture. Our services last about an hour and are also streamed live online. If you want to know what a service looks like before you visit, you can always check out our sermon library or join us via livestream.
After each worship service, you will have the opportunity to respond to God's calling to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of your life. If you are already a believer and have a personal relationship with Christ, but are looking for a church home, we will give you the opportunity to become a member at the end of each service. We also have a First Step Class every month for you to meet some of our staff, learn more about our church, and become a member.
Alongside gathering for worship each week, engaging in a small group is the most important next step for every member and guest. Understanding God's call to community, we will group together to study Scripture, cultivate uncommon unity, and meet the needs of each other. Life Groups are age or life-stage-specific small groups. There are dozens of Life Group options for every age and life stage represented in our church.
We offer dynamic programming for preschoolers, children, and students on Sundays and Wednesdays, as well as many special events throughout the year. Children's classes (ages birth through 5th grade) meet on the first and second floors of our Preschool & Children's Building. Students in 6th and 7th grades meet on the second floor of the Family Life Center in “The Verge.” Students in grades 8th through 12th grades meet on the third floor in the “Upper Room.”
Men across all age groups gather weekly to remind, restore, and empower each other as we respond to the biblical mandate to be men of God. We learn how God describes our role as men and encourage each man to take the next step in following that mandate. We realize each man struggles, but we learn to struggle well when we join together in pursuing God as we study, serve, and pray together. We are open to all ages.
Our women’s ministry is more than just BIG events and Bible study classes. WE are women of faith and action who have come together to spur one another on in love and good deeds. There are many ways you can serve and be involved in the ministries that are under the umbrella of WOMEN’S MINISTRY. It all starts with connecting with one of our women’s ministry lead team members to hear your heart and see where God is calling you to serve. We have Bible study classes each semester, we have D-groups and Mentor/Mentee relationships forming, we have a ministry that focuses on missions, a group of ladies who pray and do acts of kindness throughout the year, and we are just starting. There are more ministries that are being dreamed of and being formed each month. Call the church and ask for one of our women’s ministry lead team members to reach out and meet with you, and let them tell you of all the ways you can connect with the women of our church.
Our Worship and Music ministry has many different opportunities for you to put your musical gifts to use whether through the Worship Choir, Morning Glories Senior Adult Choir, Pure Praise Kids Choir, Pure Energy Student Choir, and our Student Worship Arts (SWA) program.
Life Care Ministry involves our Griefshare and Divorcecare classes and other specialty classes that help through difficult transitions that life brings with biblical applications and support.
Missions is more than something we do. It is the task that God has set before all believers, every church. And the task won't be done until Christ returns.
We use the word "GO" in our missions language. "GO" is an acronym for "Global Outreach." First Baptist Church has embraced the Great Commission, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations..." our mandate from King Jesus compels us to work to see all peoples reached with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
